WsrInfoLive - how it works
|
- A trusted contributor becomes aware of a late running WSR train or perhaps a loco swop
- The trusted contributor tweets a direct message to the WsrInfoLive twitter account
- The tweet appears on the WsrLiveInfo twitter page
- And is also sent as SMS (text) to mobile phones of WsrInfoLive followers
- And appears on the WsrLiveInfo RSS feed
- And for good measure it appears on www.wsr.org.uk too
|
A little more detail about the workings...
- WsrInfoLive is now using the Bird Herd app to manage a list of trusted twitter account holders who then post private (direct) messages to WsrInfoLive (see below for syntax)
- The private (direct) messages are then treated as if tweeted by WsrInfoLive
- The messages are then sent out to anyone following WsrInfoLive including text messages to mobile phones (if the follower sets up that function within their twitter account)
- The information tweeted will appear:
- on the followers pages on twitter
- on text messages (if set up by follower)
- on an RSS feed
- on www.wsr.org.uk
- The only costs are to those good souls who will be tweeting the messages via their mobile phones.
- The current system is entirely "unofficial" but may still provide useful running information to linesiders, passengers and staff.
