Steam Fayre and Vintage Vehicle Rally 7-8 August 2010

A Fun Day out at the Fayre...
The West Somerset Railway Association's 2010 Rally will be held at Norton Fitzwarren and will echo to the sight, sound and smell of many mighty steam engines gathered for the WSRA's 23nd Rally. A glittering array of superb machinery will be in action alongside Britain’s longest heritage railway. 2010 looks like beating all records with some of the country’s finest examples of vintage transport on display.
This year, the Rally will have a large steam section featuring full size and miniature traction engines. Vintage cars, motorcycles, fire engines, military and commercial vehicles will be on show, all sections being well supported. Stationary engines will line the approach to the main arena areas.
Gleaming engines, powerful steam engines, tractors and road rollers, elegant vintage cars and motorcycles, superb fire engines, buses, commercial and military vehicles will all be put through their paces in the arena to thrill the crowds.
The West Somerset Railway Association Steam Fayre & Vintage Vehicle Rally at Norton Fitzwarren is well known for its unique location, friendly atmosphere and good value for money. Backing up the transport exhibits will be displays, stalls, trade stands, children's entertainments and ample refreshment facilities.
So, book the dates now and bring the whole family along to enjoy a fabulous day out – with so much to see there really is something for everyone.

Trains...
The Railway will operate a shuttle train service between Bishops Lydeard Station and the new platform adjacent to the Rally site at Norton Fields...
On Saturday 7 August the shuttle train departs Bishops Lydeard at

In addition to the shuttle service, a frequent service of trains will be in operation on the Railway from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead, with the Green Timetable on 7 August and the Gold Timetable in operation on 8 August.

Catering...
There will be plenty of refreshment and catering outlets around the rally site, in addition to a Beer Tent.
In addition, buffet and bar facilities will be available on all WSR train services during the weekend, serving a range of hot and cold food, tea & coffee and a range of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Connecting Classic Bus Service...
A connecting bus service will run to and from the venue. An impressive fleet of classic buses will run frequently from Taunton (town centre, bus station, railway station) direct to the Rally. Travel to and from the Rally on these classic bus services is free. Buses from 9.30am and then approximately every twenty minutes. Your Steam Fayre and Vintage Vehicle Rally entrance ticket is purchased on the bus and will include the bus travel at no extra cost.
